The NEXT Modern Sonic Game

So... here we again Sonic fans! We're once again guessing as to what the future of Modern Sonic holds for the poor blue Hedgehog. Now in this blog post I won't be talking about Sonic Mania Plus or the recently teased Sonic Racing game, we are strictly talking about the next Modern Sonic game and what it could contain. So let us begin...
Sonic Forces... Was Ok
So I think we can all agree on something, Sonic Forces was an Ok game. It was a slight step up from Sonic Lost World however it failed to live up to the hype that followed this game since it was revealed as "Project Sonic 2017".
What I'm trying to get across is that the next Modern Sonic game cannot follow in the same footsteps of Forces. The next Modern Sonic game needs to be bolder and better, it can learn from Forces mistakes to make the next great cult classic... Sonic Team just really need to listen to the critism from Sonic Forces.
Sonic Adventure 3... IS NOT HAPPENING!
As a popular YouTuber once said... ITS TIME TO STOP! Yes, I'm looking at you, the fan who still believes that SA3 is ever going to happen. I may anger most of the fanbase with this but Sonic Adventure 3 will not be the next Sonic game! SEGA are aware about how much the fandom wants this game but it will not appeal to newer Sonic fans who only started playing from Colors onwards.
Now you are probably hoping for a new "Adventure" style game but I feel like SEGA will not go down this route at all. Mainly because it is way to different and drastic of change. The newer boost gameplay has been put down as the MAIN gameplay style of Modern Sonic and I don't see them returning to such an older style of gameplay which had even more mixed review score of that than Forces and Unleashed.
Sonic Unleashed 2?
I don't literally mean Sonic Unleashed 2 but it would be nice to see another Sonic game which had the scope and scale that this game did. Sonic Unleashed... Whether you hate it or love it is one of biggest Sonic games to ever come out. The game has aged well even to this day after being out for 10 years, I still think the art style in Unleashed is miles better in comparison to what we have now.
I just feel like if SEGA are going to continue the Boost gameplay, then they really need to put time and effort in to make it as grand as Sonic Unleashed was and still is.
So... What Does The Future Hold?
I strongly believe that the future of Modern Sonic is simple. The next game will more than likely be the same boost gameplay that we know and (mostly) love but hopefully they make it a much bigger game which lasts more than 4 hours.... What are your thoughts? Let us know in the comments down below.
